what. the. hell. is the news that robert smith is writing with/for ashlee simpson on her new album shocking to anyone but me? i am not even making a judgement call here - i am just really, truly shocked. i mean, i guess it kind of fits with her fake-gothy pseudo-tough persona and even with her new nose and all, but i can’t really see her pulling off a “fascination street” or even a “just like heaven.” she could maybe lipsync a “friday i’m in love” kind of tune but even that is a stretch to me.
then again, i guess robert smith hasn’t written any awesome songs like that in over a decade. maybe this makes sense after all.

First the Korn unplugged thing, and now this?! God damnit, Robert, it’s April 2nd. The time for jokes and tricks has passed.
Ummm, where did they find Robert Smith? I think maybe this has to be linked somehow to Ashley Simpson and Robert Smith having the same agent or something, otherwise all I can say is what in sam hill is going on? And who is sam hill?
@ Sam
Yep, Wild Mood Swings was the last good Cure album.
I don’t have the heart to tell my friends that bought The Cure and Bloodflower that I hate (HATE HATE!!!) both of those joints.
@ Joie
It’s the High Fidelity Q: regarding latter sins of geniuses. We’ll always have Disintegration.
what are you talking about, bloodflowers is fucking amazing.
It’s times like this when I relish not being a Cure fan, and get to enjoy watching the faithful writhe in agony. Where is Oliver when he’d be really useful?
Um please. Wish was the last good Cure album. Sorry all.
that’s a negative on bloodflowers.
wish was the last cure album that i totally
that you totally what?
imho as well, wish was the last amazing cure album. wild mood swings was very likeable. bloodflowers was meh. and the s/t? i don’t want to talk about it.

I used txt’speak, but wp translated that as an unclosed tag.
I’m going to listen to “Doing the Unstuck” today, for SURE.

I was going to argue with you, because I really liked Wild Mood Swings, but then I remembered that that came out in 1997, maybe?
