Meet our swell audio player

Filed under News/Development by Commissar Startastic

This is gonna cause SOOOO many problems, but I’m sure its worth it. Kinda like the 16 year-old girl I met at the mall.

El Gato - Christmas in My City

It plays slightly nicer with IE than it does with Firefox. It also seems to only play MP3, so you teeming masses of iPod users will have to find some way to convert the files. This player is fully integrated with Wordpress so its really easy to put links in……

Here’s a link to a file I uploaded using the upload file interface in Wordpress! Yes where you actually write the articles! Now you can add mp3 with no assistance from me what so ever, although if we want to make the mp3 a ‘permanent’ addition, we should probably upload them somewhere different.

It’s Christmas right? Let the lawsuits begin!

That’s so sweet!

A note: I’m an iPod user, but i have my iTunes set to convert files to mp3 instead of m4a specifically because of stuff like this. There’s also a feature in iTunes to take anything you already imported as a m4a and convert it to mp3. So there should be no worries.

wow, that was…quick. well done, commissar.

it is VERY important to put a disclaimer in your posts if you use this, guys…we want people to be able to check out music but NOT download. we don’t need the legal hassles. or the bandwidth crap either - just use the new player with some decorum, that’s all i’m asking.

now i am going to be humming “band aid” all day. good times.

So, you’re saying i shouldn’t post that 12-minute bootleg of Shellac’s “Didn’t We Deserve A Look At You the Way You Really Are” or the entire 3 CD Mclusky best of compilation?

also, this just got dave and me laughing…from the wikipedia article on band aid:
“Strangely, although he wasn’t invited, Blur’s frontman and songwriter Damon Albarn appeared at the sessions, wanting to somehow assist the recording process of the charity single. He wasn’t allowed to sing, but Bono advised him as to how to be most useful for the singers. ‘I asked him to make the tea,’ the U2 frontman explained to Xfm, ‘I saw him on Thursday night. He said “I don’t know what to do.” I said, “Make tea.” He said “You really think so?” I said, “Yeah, make tea!”‘ Albarn quite happily responded, and thus served biscuits and tea for the participants, as well as appearing briefly in the video, at which Bono ‘fatherly’ commented: ‘Good on him. I always knew that boy would turn out good in the end.’”
