The Thermals Prayer

Filed under Reviews/Live Shows and News/Random Musings by amber

i call upon the ancient and awesome god(s) of song, so hear my prayer. and stuff.

i’m going to see the thermals tonight, as you know. we’ve talked about it. well, i have. anyway, i pray to you guys with like, the utmost reverence and everything so that you will grant my request. do you already know what it is, since you’re god? well, whatever, i’ll spell it out for you in print, since you might be wearing your iPod right now. please make them (by force, if you have to, i am paying good money for entertainment) play these 3 songs in their set: “a stare like yours”, “i might need you to kill”, and “a pillar of salt”. if they don’t play them, i swear to god i’m gonna be so pissed. wait, no! sorry. you know what i mean.

seriously, dudes. i don’t ask for much.

but while i’ve got you here…do you think you could maybe do the world a few favors? get rid of my chemical romance, first of all. were they a joke? not funny. also, please destroy any band whose name sounds like something that could be found on a soiled hospital sheet (i.e. staind, hoobastank, etc). britney spear’s progeny really has to stop. do something. and it’d be good if air made another album. you like them, right? also, decide what you want to do with conor oberst already. either he needs to die of some some sort of crack/freebase overdose, or he needs to disappear. hovering him somewhere in the middle of those is just disorienting for me.

anyway, i had a point. right, the thermals! come ON! make it happen.

well, gods, i’ll be in touch.

My Chemical Romance is one of the best bands out there. How can you make fun of them?

My Chemical Romance is terrible. Go watch a video.

I think their videos are eerie and wonderful. Obviously I am not the only person who likes them since they are selling albums left and right.

Let me weigh in on My Chemical Romance. First the whole emo as goth thing doesnt work. Period. Please dont argue. Second, the first time I heard them they really had me. It was the video for the Black Parade. I thought it was going to be some sort Hedwig and the Angry Inch sorta thing. An emo band that plays showtunes! I was excited. Then it degraded into utter and total complete crap. That is all.

well if someone wants to try to appease the gods on behalf of MCR, go ahead, but i have to say — considering the gods obviously favor me among mortals, since they granted my thermal prayer and all, my chemical romance may have already been destroyed by the gods, per my request.

OOPS
