Stereogum and The Tripwire are linking to this bit on YouTube.com (and really, wouldn’t yourtube be the best parody porn site on the net?) of Ben Gibbard and Colin Meloy covering Blur’s “End of a Century”.
This just further proves that Ben’s suck-power knows no bounds. Sure, he can cover a crappy song and make it crappier (see “Against all odds”) but he can also cover brilliant songs and make them crappier.

just because he’s chubby and sensitive doesn’t make him a genius (or good a making Tang (yes, that was a euphamism for you know what (oh, don’t act so shocked)))
His voice is so undistinct that I thought Ben Gibbard was the guy from the Decemberists (who at least makes up for his undistinct monotone with interesting arrangements)
I actually like the Postal Service, but the more of Ben’s other stuff I hear, the more I’m convinced that the driving force behind them is the other guy, the one from dntel. The more of his Death Crap stuff I hear, the more firmly I believe that — and this clip only convinces me further. Though I really enjoy the acoustics that make it sound like it was recorded in someone’s high school gym.
