joie, i’m with you. animal collective sucks a big one. i get called a fascist everytime by hipsters, but whatever, AC is a brood of hippies.
GROSS.
I’ve seen Animal Collective twice now for free. I’ve wanted my money back both times. I guess I’m a fascist too. Public Enemy should be sweet though.
It’s so vogue to hate on Animal Collective these days. I find the whole hipsters-lashing-out-against-hipsters-because-it’s-hip thing so amusing. As long as you’re ok with the idea that the hipsters dogging on AC are the next to face the gallows…
I think my main man Kev Costner said it best in the 90’s hit “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” when he proclaimed, “Either we take our chances with the ghosts or become ghosts ourselves!”
I was hating on Animal Collective before it was “hip” to hate on Animal Collective. Hell, before it was hip to LIKE Animal Collective, I was ragging on Animal Collective.
The shit is NOT MUSIC. It’s noise. Not even the “What is that damn noise” treatment that punk/metal or rock and roll received, but seriously noise put to a beat. If you like that, fine, great, awesome, just don’t try to pass it off as music, or even art. It’s noise. Call it what it is.
