Hi everybody, i’m Conan Neutron, I play in the band Replicator from Oakland, CA. There are many tour diaries, but this one is mine. Thanks to the SSC gang for asking us to do it here.
Since we haven’t posted any pictures up yet, I figured i’d put a couple up from Luke Holwerda at our Phoenix show… these are from a good live review by Matt Neff in the Phoenix New Times.

Ben in Phoenix
Due to the lack of an Oklahoma show we decided to stay in Austin another day. The idea being that we would try to hop on another show.
Nothing doing, Emo’s has a show with They Shoot Horses Don’t They? that our pal Daniel Francis Doyle is opening, but Emo’s is not so into it because of the short notice. Beerland has 5 bands playing, and the Hole in the Wall that has our friends Screaming Cyn Cyn and the Pons are playing... has 3 bands and apparantly does not have room for another. Our last chance seems to be the Parlor, a pizza place that has shows that is somewhat DIY. They only have two bands on the bill tonight, and all we’re really looking for is someplace to play for the people that missed the show the night before or that wanted to see us again.
no dice! For whatever reason, having us do our thing and bring in a half dozen or so extra paying customers before the scheduled bands play is too much, and the Parlor decides to be very un-mench like.
not to be a dick or egotistical, but I thought that was kind of a lame move overall.
such is life though!
So it looks like there is no joy in mudville, a Replicator show is out.
We head back to Paul’s to relax and notice that we’re down to about 20 cds, so we e-mail our label guy Matt at Radio Is Down to get some more sent to Ben’s Mom’s place in Indianapolis. We eat at a pretty nice BBQ place (they all seem pretty good so far, especially the beef… that is no cliche!), then end up at the Hole in the Wall to hang out with and watch our pals Screaming Cyn Cyn. This is the first Screaming Cyn Cyn show where you can clearly hear both Shane and Cynthia’s vocals, which is fantastic as their vocals are really funny and interesting. They put on the best show we’ve seen yet. Cyn Cyn, it was great seeing you play again, see you in Wisconsin.
Even though I don’t really have the money I buy a t-shirt, because… well I want one. They have a few more dates on their tour people, check ‘em out.
Ben (AKA: Band dad) enforces our curfew since we have an early start the next morning, so sadly… no late night swimming or volleyball for us with new Austin friends.
Next we’re in Memphis, and leaving Texas, which will hopefully make for some interesting reading.
