teecomb in Pitchfork Leaks Some of the 2008 Lineup Animal Collective rocks so hard. It’s has great melodies and most people who hate on it have only heard one era of them that didn’t...
We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming at this time to inform you of some exciting and potentially dangerous breaking news - Superstarcastic’s first music festival (Superstarcastival? Superstarcastipalooza?) will be held in Chicago the weekend of June 1st and 2nd. We are in the process of booking a kickass lineup of bands and musicians and most of the profits will go to benefit a local charity.Â
Yes, we are being vague with the details at this time but it makes us feel powerful to know something you don’t. Plus this way we get to surprise and excite you later…build a climax, if you will. We will of course continue to keep you abreast of breaking developments and we urge you to mark your calendars so you won’t miss what is sure to be a rockin’ good time, one that will supply you with a plethora of wacky stories with which to bore your grandchildren.
Thank you. Please return to your regularly scheduled boring lives at this time.
oh! hello. i didn’t see you there. let me just take these expensive headphones off and put this on pause, here, and–oh, what’s that? what am i listening to? why, this is the latest full-length from australian band youth group, hot off the presses. it’s really good. what? hell, i don’t know if they actually use presses, i just…it’s an expression, ok? leave me alone.
anyway, dear readers, if you’ve noticed that we’re suddenly getting a lot more comments, there is a reason…you can now comment to superstarcastic without officially registering on the site. we couldn’t call ourselves a socialist collective if we didn’t condone sharing, after all.
this means that the shy and terrified among you can actually voice your opinions without worrying that we will track you down by your email address and kill you for liking billy joel or panic!#$^& at the disco or even (gulp) my chemical romance. don’t get me wrong - we would much rather know who you are so as to properly make fun of you. however, if you have something to say, by all means make up a pseudonym and jump on in there.
also, merry holidays and all that. we will probably be low on the postings over the next week and a half or so but please bookmark us and come back - we will make it worth your while, we promise.
It plays slightly nicer with IE than it does with Firefox. It also seems to only play MP3, so you teeming masses of iPod users will have to find some way to convert the files. This player is fully integrated with Wordpress so its really easy to put links in……
Here’s a link to a file I uploaded using the upload file interface in Wordpress! Yes where you actually write the articles! Now you can add mp3 with no assistance from me what so ever, although if we want to make the mp3 a ‘permanent’ addition, we should probably upload them somewhere different.
We are now popular enough to get attacked by the porn spambots. Really stepping up in the world! While I figure out how to plug all these all holes, please forgive the occasional cum-guzzling granny post you might see! We don’t mind profane disgusting things all that much, but we prefer them to be more like The Frogs, and less like Insane Clown Posse.
if you’ll notice, however, he has now changed his genre on his myspace page to rap/progressive. see, superstarcastic is making a difference in the world.
PS. If you’re into french rap, his music’s not bad either. check it out.
there’s getting to be too many of you for me to keep track of in my head so if you are currently a writer (or a photogrpaher, davin) for this ultra-awesome music review site, i need you to do 3 things for me:
1. please send me an email at joie@superstarcastic.com so i can get a master list together of everyone who is still involved. please include your myspace and instant messenger information if applicable, as well as your physical location. do this even if i should know it already.Â
2. i have quite a few albums that need covering so i would like to send some out to everyone as soon as possible…i’ll probably do this digitally. please let me know if you would like something to review and i’ll hook you up.
3. our traffic is slowly building and i thank all of you who continue to help me promote by using your myspace pages and personal websites. please continue to do so. if anyone uses stumbleupon.com, digg or technorati, feel free to talk up superstarcastic whenever you can. this also applies to music-related message boards and so forth. we are getting a lot of interesting traffic from such things and maybe it’s just me, but i like to think that my future ex-husband eric bachmann might be reading us and stuff.
