Sam
Sam is obsessed with band names. That’s probably the most important thing you need to know about him. Hence, he’s played various keyboards, guitars, and percussion instruments for bands that, if they didn’t make entertaining music, at least had entertaining names: Obey The Toaster, The Doorknobs, That Fish Is Almost Human, Denim Samurai, Doom Loop, Future Imperfect, Formal Thought Disorder.
He’ll name your band too (email him at sameddington AT hotmail DOT com), but you have to promise to use whatever name he gives you. He’s really looking forward to sticking the next lot of you emo malcontents with a moniker like Stabbed By Butterflies, or Don’t Cry Because I’m Prettier Than You. If, on the other hand, you just want to know what he’s listening to, you can check out his last.fm page.
Sam lives in a tiny town that you’ve almost certainly never heard of in Nevada, where in his lighter moments he’s the director of the community library. In his more serious moments, he’s reviewed his 10 favorite albums for Superstarcastic, which are:
1. New Order, Technique
2. The Human League, Dare!
3. The Church, Priest=Aura
4. Saint Etienne, Good Humor
5. Jandek, Six and Six
6. Kylie Minogue, Impossible Princess
7. Pet Shop Boys, Behavior
8. Annbjorg Lien, Felefeber (Norwegian Fiddle Fantasia)
9. Beth Orton, Central Reservation
10. Aphex Twin, Selected Ambient Works 85-92
He dares you to find another top 10 list with both Kylie Minogue and Jandek on it.
