Leah
When Leah was a wee one, she didn’t want to be a nurse or an astronaut or even Debbie Gibson; she wanted to be Martha Quinn. TV is no longer an interest and MTV has taken a nose dive right into the societal toilet, but Leah still just wants to talk about music.
Leah cut her music snobbery-teeth (through some pretty emo gums) as music director of her first college station, KSPU at Seattle Pacific University. The whole oppressive-Methodist-private school thing didn’t work too well for her so she moved back home to Corvallis, Oregon where she was the rock director at KBVR. Eventually, she realized she cared way more about the music and radio business than about her degree….
Leah recently moved to Portland because “everywhere else sucks more” and NOT because it is the hipster capital of the moment. She cooks and bartends at McMenamin’s Mission Theater, which usually has third run films but also the occasional concert. It keeps things interesting. On the side, she does a little work for the company’s event/marketing department and convinces herself this is worthwhile. Mostly, it funds her rock n roll lifestyle/pays off her student loans. Don’t worry, she’ll figure it out.
