DJ

I always thought it was hilarious that the first thing Tommy Lee says in The Dirt is “Duuuuuuuude.” With that in mind:

Duuuuuuuude.* Hi, i’m DJ, aka hotshotrobot. I’ve been known to go by the alias DrAwkward, because when you play drums for a nerded-out noise-rock band that has a palindrome for a name, you’re required to have a name that is also a palindrome. It’s true. Emily’s Sassy Lime and So Many Dynamos are heretics.

Wait! Crap! Everyone else is writing their profiles in the third person! I’ll do that too. OK. Start over.

DJ aka hotshotrobot is a deeply cynical Milwaukee malcontent whose band, IfIHadAHiFi, was once banned from Milwaukee for being a bunch of trash-talking douchebags who were harming the “scene.” They responded by moving there. Ha! Today, DJ enjoys belittling others, playing Apples to Apples with homemade cards that read “Partial Birth Abortion” and “NAMBLA,” and watching episodes of Battlestar Galactica and Firefly via NetFlix.

DJ recently had his two front teeth rebuilt (it was the best birthday ever) because his band’s bass player broke them by launching his guitar at DJ’s face five songs into a recent show.

DJ is a living example of the notion that jaded people are really just frustrated idealists who refuse to give up. Goddammit.

DJ’s arch-nemesis is ouzo.
